Cary, NC, August 17, 2024 – In the men’s doubles final, the Australian team of John-Patrick Smith and John Peers received a walkover to take the doubles Championship.
The first match of the day was the Women’s doubles final. Celine Naef and Tamara Zidansek defeated Oksana Kalashnikova and Iryna Shymanovich 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (9) to claim the title.
The next match of the day was a great Men’s singles final. Qualifier, Mattia Bellucci, advance all the way to the final to face the #1 seed, Roman Safiullin. Safiullin fought off two match points for Bellucci in the second set. Safiullin took it in three sets, 1-6, 7-5, 7-5 to take home the trophy.
For the final match of the night the 2 seeded, Renata Zarazua, faced the 7 seeded Nuria Parrizas-Diaz. In another three set thriller Parrizas-Diaz won 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3).
